Effective August 18, the "j" dividend footnote which currently reads "sum of dividends paid this year - most recent dividend was omitted or deferred", will be eliminated. Instead, when either of the those situations arise or a dividend is suspended, the dividend amount will be removed. We believe this change will provide a more accurate presentation of the data.

Please eliminate "j" from your explainer box, if you use one. The footnotes can be found on our website at http://markets.ap.org/support/footnotes.shtml.

Yesterday, Wednesday Sept. 17th, we transmitted New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) tables that had approximately 70 erroneous prices and changes. Unfortunately internal production processes made it impossible for a corrected re-transmit last night. These errors affected our print transmissions only, all of AP's online market data was correct. This morning all of the erroneous prices were corrected in our databases.

The bad prices originated within our provider's databases and they have assured us that proper steps were taken today to avoid a repeat of these events. We have also taken steps internally to prevent the same from happening.

Please click here to download a spreadsheet of the affected stocks and their corrected values.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have further questions or are in need of more information please call our support number at 1-800-3AP-STOX (327-7869).

At present we are experiencing delays of up to one hour and 15 minutes on transmitting stock tables and delays up to 45 minutes for mutual fund tables.

Due to extremely high trading volume our data provider has approximately 200 stocks that have incorrect highs and/or lows. We have identified those stocks and a list is available here. All other aspects of the stock data are correct (close, change, etc.). Due to the complexity of making the corrections and the necessity of meeting deadlines we are forced to release the tables in their original form (including incorrect data). Please refer to the list here if you wish to advise your readers or make corrections manually.
